British Bricklaying offer a comprehensive range of bricklaying services for residential and commercial clients. We are seeking an experienced Bricklayer to join our team.

Requirements

1. Qualification certificate (preferred)

2. Minimum 2 years experience with strong technical skills as a bricklayer and blocklayer, with good references

3. Construction industry safety card (white card)

4. Ability to read and interpret plans

5. Must be able to work unsupervised

6. Strong team player

7. Be Reliable, punctual and self motivated

8. Have a great work attitude

9. Drivers licence

Duties

• Interpreting work orders and determining the materials required.
• Measuring distance from reference points.
• Calculating angles and determining the vertical and horizontal alignment of courses.
• Setting out brick/block work in rows, designs and shapes
• Cutting and shaping bricks using the required tools to ensure that the bricks fit in various spaces
• Laying bricks in rows, designs or shapes and filling in spaces between the mortar
• Ensuring that bricks have the correct alignment
• Using Damp-resistance materials to seal foundations and using a trowel to spread mortar bases and binders for blocks.
• Repairing any damaged bricks
• Constructing walls using stone slabs and masonry slabs
• Working safely on scaffolds and swing stages at various heights.
• Using equipment and tools effectively and safely.
• Set up and clean up end of day.
