About the Position

We are currently seeking a professional with demonstrated experience in Estimations and tendering Management in a Steel Fabrication capacity.

The ideal candidate will be well versed in pricing Structural steel work, Heavy Plate work, Hoppers, Chutes, Bins, rotable spares and Piping.

A sound knowledge of wear products, their application and installation methods is required.

The successful candidate will be responsible for all tendering from enquiry through to tender submission along with managing estimators and reviewing other tenders. Key duties:

• Manage the estimating team
• Completing Tenders
• Manage client relationships
• Review completed jobs and analyse data for future bids
• Very strong written skills to successfully communicate to clients our inclusions and exclusion though tender letters.
• Ensure tenders are submitted on time
• Effective communication and handover to execution team
• Champion for driving process inline with our management systems
• Ensure the projects are profitable via tendering and successful project management
• Ensure client needs are met at both Tender and Project Execution stage
• Grow and mentor the team

Requirements for this position include:

• 10 years+ experience in a steel fabrication Environment
• Experience with pricing using tonne rates, norms and first principle
• Sound knowledge of suppliers and sub-contractor capabilities in the Perth metropolitan area and interstate as required.
• Experience in estimating small to large size Fabrication projects
• A sound knowledge of Quality requirements around welding, heavy fabrication and welding
• Must be able to effectively conduct tender negotiations with suppliers and clients
• Experience with Strumis will be highly advantageous
