Located in the northern suburbs our client, who have shown themselves to be a leader in the engineering sector by manufacturing and supplying special purpose equipment and components to the Mining, Defence, Power and Water industries. 

Due to an increase of New Projects, there is an excellent opportunity for you to join the team. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible for the following:

Your role

To manage engineering and construction projects by Coordinating, planning, organising and controlling all elements of a project or projects.

Job tasks and responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will be to :

• Manage and develop project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans; conferring with management.
• Determine project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements; assigning personnel to phases and elements.
• Determine project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, Developing ITP, MDR and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
• Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications; calculating time requirements; sequencing project elements.
• Maintain project schedule by monitoring project progress; coordinating activities; resolving problems.
• Control project plan by reviewing design, specifications, and plan and schedule changes; recommending actions.
• Control project costs by approving expenditures; administering contractor contracts.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends; recommending actions.
• Maintain product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills and experience

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following key attributes:

• Engineering field and project management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
• Excellent project management skills desired
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Enterprise-level computer ERP platform experience
• Microsoft Project Software experience
