The Role:

Due continued growth, an exciting opportunity is available for a proactive and enthusiastic Estimator / Supervisor to join our Large Loss Insurance Builders team in Murarrie.

Utilise your exceptional time management and organisational skills to provide clear, accurate and detailed building scope of works for insurance reinstatement projects. You will attend key stakeholder meetings, work closely with supervisors and contract administrators, provide customers with reassurance and win jobs for the division.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of large loss insurance jobs from commencement to completion
  • Estimate for building re-instatement works
  • Attend & contribute to key stakeholder meetings
  • Develop & foster relationships with key cliental in the insurance & further market
  • Work with engineers & draftsmen to build detailed scope of works
  • Assist supervisors & contract administrators with variations & trade costs
  • Monitor estimator quotation lists
  • Monitor & assist team with relationship development
  • Identify discrepancies with project quotations
  • Identify apparent trends regarding pricing
  • Develop & continually monitor estimating processes & strategies, ensuring our systems are of best practice in the industry
  • Explore potential non-conforming cost savings & alternatives
  • Conduct & manage detailed project take-offs & internal measures
  • Analysis of potential cost savings, gains, losses & profitability
  • Develop preliminary costs in conjunction with nominated construction manager
  • Travel to sites around the greater Brisbane region

Key Selection Criteria:

Being able to demonstrate and highlight examples of these are the key criteria for you to be successful in joining our existing talented and passionate team. The following selection criteria is also important, but we are happy to teach and mentor you along the way.

  • Experience estimating & supervising large construction projects
  • Trade certificate in carpentry or a related discipline
  • Certificate IV in Building & Construction highly regarded, however not essential
  • Insurance building background advantageous, however not essential
  • Excellent communication & customer service skills
  • Ability to build effective relationships with internal & external stakeholders
  • Ability to be empathetic to the needs of the client
  • Exceptional attentional to detail & organisational skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple & competing priorities
  • Computer literacy
  • Can do attitude & a drive to succeed
  • Understanding of OHS practices, legislation, regulations & current market rates/trades
  • Current & valid motor vehicle licence
