We are a fast-growing manufacturing company in Dandenong. We design and fabricate sheet metal structures for distribution through Australia.

We are looking for a mechanical engineer to join our team. We are seeking a motivated individual with hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software who is familiar with technical drawings and specifications and wants to develop a long-term career in an exciting industry. The role will require the individual to take a project from initial ideas and concepts through to manufacture. Working with internal and external manufacturing facilities to bring their design to the market. 

The successful applicant responsibilities will include:

· Create and draft feasible and manufacture concepts;

· Oversee the manufacture of design to ensure accuracy of manufacture;

· Production of engineering drawings in accordance with Australian & QST Standards;

· Oversee and assist with testing of the design;

· Engineering change task completion to maintain designs; 

· Preparation of documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).

· Liaising with operators and other operators to ensure the accuracy of design drawings;

The suitable applicant will have:

· Experience with Inventor or Solid Works and AutoCAD 2D;

· Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

· The ability to read and understand complex drawings.

· Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Be highly motivated and able to work unsupervised.

· Produce technical and workshop drawings;

· Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team;

· Past mechanical design experience (Both moving parts and loaded structures);

· Knowledge of design calculations (shear and bending stress analysis methods, weld load calcs, design analysis).

· Experience in BOQs, engineering estimation, and costing.
