Ascension Global is currently seeking applications from Senior Surveyors or a Survey Manager, to support a state significant Rail, Roads & Mining projects in Brisbane QLD.

A strong civil & construction infrastructure background will serve you well in carrying out surveying work on a specific project with a tight deadline. These services will include, but are not limited to, the following: Control network surveys Civil and construction surveys for roads, dams and infrastructure Exploration surveys Implement monitoring programs Machine guidance Surveying equipment and software applications you will use day to day include Trimble with CAD software and various UAV technology; while experience with these would be an advantage.

Additional experience which would be highly includes experience with GPS equipment and machine guidance technology, what is more critical to your success in this role is a willingness to work longer hours occasionally as part of an agile project team to obtain completion within the desired time frame, great communication skills, the ability to engage with people from a range of backgrounds and the desire to deliver solutions and guidance to the broader project team every day.

If you have delivered a road/rail/infrastructure project that will be advantageous to your application.

Roles and Responsibilities

Liaise on a daily basis with site supervisors and engineering staff

Provide leadership and support to survey team members

Interrogate infrastructure design and identify issues

Prepare survey sketches with long section and cross section information for design clarification

Create field Setout designs for survey team

Create machine control files

General survey field work

Compile work-as-executed models

Calculate volumetric and area quantities

Install, measure and adjust survey control networks

Preferred Knowledge and Skills Base

Tertiary Qualification

10+ years' experience in the construction industry

Experience with 12d Model field and/or office software highly desirable

Experience with either Trimble or Leica field hardware and software

Experience providing ADAC data
