Are you a Project Engineer with experience in Rolling Stock, Track & Civil or Signalling? Then, read on!

We currently have an ongoing contract position for a Project Engineer to apply their skills to a major Mining operator to support their delivery of multiple rail infrastructure and rolling stock assets.

This role can be Perth based or residential in Port Hedland or Newman

Typical responsibilities may include:

  • Develop or assist in the development of various tasks including writing scopes of work, creating project BOMs, budgets, schedules, quality plans, etc.
  • Coordinate technical investigations and trials and develop solutions to technical issues.
  • Apply a Systems Engineering approach to projects and evaluation, including requirements management.
  • Produce technical documentation including specifications, work instructions, risk assessments.
  • Manage key suppliers and coordinate procurement activities.
  • Specify material, resource and training requirements and provide technical assistance where required.
  • Coordinate stakeholder communications including requirements capture, technical reviews, acceptance etc.
  • Engage suppliers, contractors, and internal teams (e.g. Engineering team) to assist in the development and delivery of relevant works
  • Coordinate and deliver assigned projects and work packages to scope, time, budget, and quality metrics.

 Key skills and experience

  • Australian recognised Engineering Degree that satisfies the entry requirements into the Institution of Engineers Australia as a Professional Engineer (Member or Chartered)
  • Railway experience in Rolling Stock, Track & Civil or Signalling
  • Sound understanding of railway safety regulation
  • Good written and spoken English language skills including the ability to develop clear and concise technical reports
