Position: Mining Engineer

Work Location: Chichester – Christmas Creek

Roster: FIFO Ex Perth 8:6

We are currently seeking highly motivated Mining Engineer to join our operations. Reporting to the Senior Mine Planning Engineer, this role is responsible for carrying out detailed mine design work and short-term production scheduling associated with the delivery of the 3-month mine plan to set standards on timely manner.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Deliver operational pit designs and related infrastructure designs for 3-month schedules and daily site operation(s) in order to optimise the associated resources and maximise the value of the mining business
  • Refinement of ore zone designs and 3-month planning solids
  • Update solids for 3-month mine plan and importing solids into IGantt
  • Haulage scheduling, optimisation, waste dump designs and schedules
  • Adherence to quality design standards
  • Reconciliation of 3 months plan against 2 years plan
  • Liaise with Hydrogeology to provide forecast pit RL's for dewatering plan
  • Must be capable of understanding design standards, procedures and mine physical

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mine engineering or equivalent
  • 3-year experience gained as a mining engineer with planning and design
  • Knowledge in open pit mining preferably in iron ore
  • Short to medium term planning and scheduling and mine design knowledge
  • Computer proficiency (Excel, MS Office, Vulcan, Blocksmith, Alastri suite of software’s)
  • Effectively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders with varying technical knowledge
  • Practical approach to engineering and design problems
  • Team oriented and strong ability to take initiatives towards continuous improvement
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
  • Current WA C-Class driving license
