The Company

This Melbourne based organisation is now in its 25th year of operations; They are specialists in the design, fabrication, construction and installation of major outdoor advertising, they service a broad range of clients such as shopping centres, sports stadiums, VicRoads, Metro, Citylink and City Councils.

With a strong forecast of projects ahead they are now looking for an experienced Installation Site Manager to join their team to direct project installs and take responsibility for all onsite operations, safety and coordination.

About You

The successful applicant will be a site manager coming from a construction background, ideally from either a Tier 3 or Tier 2 Builder, Structural Steel Contractor, or similar. Ideally you will have had 5+ years experience in this type of role.

You will be a proactive individual with excellent communication skills – coordinating a team of installers, fabricators and sub-contractors. You will be working in partnership with site managers and engineers to ensure successful project completion in time and within budget. This role requires a high level of forward planning and you will thrive on seeking out potential issues and problems before they arise onsite, these issues will be logistical, design or labour related. You will have a high degree of professional communication and presentation to attend walk-through and represent the company at site walks and tender meetings.

The Role

  • Site Management of install team, contractors and stakeholders
  • Planning site resources for execution of projects (hire equipment, specialist contractors, tools and equipment)
  • Site inspection, measurement, hazard/risk assessment and engagement of contractors
  • Conduct site walks and tender meetings with clients
  • Participate in audits and inspections
  • Ensure health and safety procedures are followed
  • Manage daily staff performance output as well meet safety and environmental KPI’s consistently
  • Develop strong industry relationships with clients, sub-contractors and suppliers and utilise your networking skills to ensure smooth project completion
  • This role may involve some interstate travel from time to time – QLD and NSW


  • 5+ years’ experience in a Site Manager position from either a Tier 3 or Tier 2 builder, Structural Steel Contractor or similar
  • Extensive experience with managing projects that have involved steel erection, concreting, civil works and coordinating riggers and crane crews
  • Have extensive onsite experience with DYBD and service location
  • Be able to demonstrate forward planning on upcoming projects
  • Ability to read 2D and 3D drawings, be able to foreshadow any issues that may arise before install
  • High level of accuracy, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive experience of conducting site walk-throughs assessing hazards and risks
  • Experience of supervising and leading teams of up to 8-10 employees.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Results driven and hands-on with a solution focused approach
  • Able to build strong rapport and positive relationships in the construction industry both with employees and contractors
  • Can manage a busy workload with strong organisational & time management
