JOB DESCRIPTION

The incumbent is to carry out general plastering and other related duties primarily under the direction of the immediate Supervisor. The plasterer will be required to provide direction and support to apprentices and labourers as may be required and shall execute all duties in a professional and timely manner with a focus on OH&S in everything they do.

Duties expected of a Plasterer include:

· Reading drawings and scopes for renovations where plastering is required

· Laying out plasterboard, cutting and positioning plasterboard

· Fixing plasterboard, cornice, mouldings and ceiling panels to ceilings and battens

· Installing insulation and vapour barriers

· Repairing damaged surfaces using plaster to patch holes and cover joins, smoothing and sandpapering to finish

· Mixing plaster, cement and render and applying, and where required creating decorative textures

· Installing acoustic, and fire proofing materials with plaster

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY:

The position is responsible for:

· Ensure all works comply with relevant Australian Standards, Local Shire and other relevant codes and standards.

· Work executed is compliant in tradesman like standard, quality and executed in a timely manner.

· Works comply with all OH&S requirements.

· Material, labour, plant and equipment is used as effectively and efficiently as possible.

· Stay abreast of any advances in the greater building sector.

· Maintaining a full tool kit to enable effective execution of duties.

· Adhere to safe work practices, instructions and rules.

· Immediately report any unsafe work conditions or equipment and workplace incidents to management.

· Operate vehicles, plant and equipment in a proper manner and ensure professional appearance.

· Co-operate with all other personnel to enable the health, safety and environmental responsibilities of the Company and Clients to be achieved.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
