  • Office located in Newcastle with projects being undertaken on the NSW Central Coast
  • Salary starting from $110,745 pa + super

The Soil Conservation Service, Hunter Area Team are looking for a high-quality leader with commercial business acumen to coordinate and manage the delivery of a program of natural resource and environmental works for multiple clients. As the Senior Project Coordinator, you’ll be at home working in a competitive commercial environment to lead a diverse team of environmental project managers deliver a range of natural resource and/or civil construction projects to industry stakeholders and clients.

Your responsibilities will include:

Team Leadership:

  • Overseeing the operations of a team of professionals, allocating projects in accordance with individual competencies and equitable workloads.
  • Building capability in others and working across other teams to assist in the development of project management, team development, and quality processes and skills as required.

Business Management:

  • Promoting, managing, and marketing a successful commercial consulting business in line with set profit targets
  • Identifying client needs and actively seek environmental projects to maintain a market share of work
  • Establishing networks and developing effective partnerships to win commercial contracts in natural resource management and/or civil construction.

Financial Management:

  • Leading a business area with a $3M to $5M turnover, with projects ranging in size from $20k to $2M.
  • Managing financial KPI’s and budgets to build revenue and meet financial targets.
  • Preparing and reviewing contracts and tender documents.

Project Management:

  • Establishing and managing project teams, to ensure governance and quality compliance in the delivery of all project milestones and outcomes
  • Providing practical solutions to a diverse range of natural resource management problems/issues and delivering beneficial outcomes to clients on a fee-for-service basis
  • Preparing reports and reviewing those prepared by team members, ensuring technical and presentation standards are met
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and plans
  • Implementing projects following specifications and technical drawings prepared in-house or by third parties.

About You:
Ideally, we are seeking someone with a tertiary qualification in a relevant field. You’ll need to have specialist knowledge and experience in assessment, design, and implementation of natural resource management and/or civil construction techniques and practices, and have a solid understanding of and commitment to IMS procedures (SCS or other).

You’ll have proven experience managing and developing project teams within a commercial business environment and have demonstrated experience successfully delivering relevant natural resource and/or civil construction projects – from initial design through to physical construction.

Our focus is high-quality leadership and high-quality project delivery and to be successful this needs to be your focus too. However this role is not just all leading from the front, you’ll also be comfortable rolling up your sleeves and jumping into hands-on project management work when required.

A current NSW driver licence combined with the willingness and ability to travel across NSW (including overnight stays) is also required.
