Position Requirements: Successful candidates must hold at minimum a Bachelor’s Level Qualification in Engineering & Relevant Qualification in Project Management. – MINIMUM 2 YEARS’ EXPERIENCE IN SAME OR SIMILAR ROLE

Job Overview: Wharton’s Labour Hire Pty Ltd are seeking a candidate to fulfil our Junior Project Engineer/Estimator role. Working independently and in a team, your role concerns preparing scopes of work, models and estimates for tender, site inspections, compliance, the liaison for all aspects engineering between third parties (clients, subcontractors, project managers etc.) and Wharton’s. You will be collaborating closely with the Senior Project Engineer/Estimator and ultimately reporting to the Operations Manager. The position will require attention to detail as you will be working on iconic projects both in Victoria and interstate.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Review and assessment of enquiries inclusive of sub-contract agreements, tender specifications, engineering reports, scopes of work, bill of quantities, architectural drawings, structural drawings, CAD model and shop detailing data / drawings.

· Attending site inspections, actively participating in meetings, liaising with project engineers, project managers, contractors and other employees to discuss scope of work in relation to the project.

· Presentation and discussion of strategy and methodology of Action Alliance estimates based on Client information, current work practices, available products and technology inclusive of cost benefit analysis of alternate coating solutions to provide economical conforming, alternate and non-conforming proposals.

· Analysis of manufacturer quotations, specifications and fire proofing schedules.

· Measurement and preparation of material take-off derived from site measuring, bill of quantities, architectural and structural drawings, CAD model and shop detailing data and drawings where required for the calculation of materials, labour, equipment and other costs to complete the scope of work required for the project.

· Preparation, presentation and discussion of strategy relating to tender submissions, programs and schedules with management.

· Preparation of data and information for Inspection Test plans, QA / QC.

· Inspection of items to prepare suitability for coating system inclusive of weld types & fabrication methodology.

· Preparation and handover documentation of live projects to production.

· Coordination of third-party inspections and non-destructive testing and other specialist subcontractors as specified in subcontract agreements, specifications and agreed scopes of work.

· Adherence to Relevant Australian & State Standards.

· Review and analysis of current projects for budget conformance.

· Review of current drawings and data against tendered drawings, data and scope of work for the purpose of identifying, preparation and submission of variations to subcontract agreements and purchased orders.

· Maintenance of Registers, Standard documents / forms and quotation files.

· Provide support to Accounts, Logistics and other Group Units as required.

· Overseeing project requirements and closeout obligations.
