The Company:

Van der Meer Consulting is a multi-disciplinary Structural and Civil Consulting Engineering group with offices in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, Newcastle and Sydney. This rapidly expanding company is currently seeking a suitably qualified Senior Structural Engineer in our Canberra office.



Education and Experience:

The successful candidate will have the following;

• Minimum Bachelor of Civil Engineering
• 10 years structural engineering experience gained within a consultancy environment preferred.
• 3 years minimum experience working locally in Canberra
• Demonstrated experience in the design of projects in the residential, commercial, retail and industrial sectors.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

• Sound knowledge and application of Australian Standard design codes, relevant design techniques and construction procedures and techniques.
• Experience in the use of software such as; Spacegass, Ram Concept, Rapt, Etabs and Microsoft Office.
• Must have excellent presentation and communication skills as these are essential for client liaison.
• Must have good interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and work with draftsmen, engineers, architects and design managers.
• Proven track record of working to tight deadlines and within budget.
• Be enthusiastic and committed to facilitating client needs
• Must demonstrate initiative and be a team player
• C class drivers licence
