ABOUT THE POSITION
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist in formulation of onsite engineering strategies and plans and implement projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Maintain the computerised engineering systems, and the site drawing register and drawings.
- Generate and maintain engineering documentation and reports.
- Assist in the development, planning and implementation of internal and external engineering projects, including financial evaluation of project alternatives.
- Carry out conceptual and detailed engineering design work for projects, ensuring occupational safety and health regulations, environmental regulations and correct engineering standards are met.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and external contractors to ensure that engineering work is carried out to acceptable standards.
- Analyse plant problems and engineer modifications, identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Provide operational support and technical assistance to the automated plant and control systems.
- Ensure own safety and health at work and avoid adversely affecting the safety or health of any other person through any act or omission at work.

The Mechatronics Engineer role supports the Production team to analyse engineering problems, and to develop and implement engineering solutions to optimise the plant to deliver improvements in capability, productivity and safety.
We are looking for someone who has the following:
- Tertiary qualification in engineering (Mechatronics) from an accredited organisation.
- Demonstrated experience in systems integration and automation.
- Demonstrated Experience using 3D modelling and 2D drawing packages.
- Sound interpersonal and communication skills to build effective working relationships
- Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision
