About the Role:

Invenio Engineering Solutions have been a recruitment partner with Ford for close to 30 years. Founded in Australia in 1990, Invenio is a pioneering business solutions company with world class expertise in Specialist Recruitment, Design and Manufacturing Software and Technical Services in Australia and New Zealand.

We are currently seeking an experienced and self-motivated Failure Mode Avoidance Engineer for a contract role within Ford's Product Development team based in Melbourne.

In this role you will be working in a dynamic global environment Coach Design and Release Engineers in Failure Mode avoidance including facilitating Design FMEAs and related Failure Mode Avoidance tools on new products and features. Conduct design reviews and work collaboratively with engineers on new model designs, from the concept phase through to volume production

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support / Co lead Failure Mode Avoidance work with Design Engineers
  • Assess forward model program content to identify key areas of focus for Failure Mode Avoidance
  • A strong ability to influence and build strong collaborative relationships
  • Drive lessons learned and prevent recurrence actions, including improved standards

Required Skills & Knowledge:

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering or in a related field
  • Minimum 3 years' relevant industry experience
  • Experience in coaching and facilitating engineering teams on FMEA and other related Failure Mode Avoidance tools is essential
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Passionate engineer & coach with an attention to detail
  • Strong aptitude for exercising influence without direct authority while maintaining close collaborative relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills and working knowledge of MS Office tools (particularly Excel, but also Word, PowerPoint)
  • Organised, independent, hands-on, can-do attitude and able to work with minimal supervision
