We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, team player to join our Waste Engineering team. In this role you will continue to develop a solid grounding in technical, quality and safety aspects of the waste management, geotechnical and engineering profession. Initiative, problem solving skills, commercial acumen, communication skills, teamwork and the ability to successfully undertake, supervise and manage field-based programs are core requirements of this role.

In Addition, You Will

  • Perform field programs as instructed by various Project Managers.
  • Fulfilling Field manager responsibilities for a Landfill Construction Quality Assurance or GITA project under Environmental Audit – for the duration of construction programs.
  • Develop an understanding of project management skills.
  • Enhance and further develop technical skills, including competent and accurate field and data assessment.
  • Demonstrate established detailed analysis skills when assessing geotechnical and geosynthetic material test results.
  • Apply waste management, geotechnical and engineering knowledge to fulfil the project scope requirements.
  • Demonstrate technical competence and sound technical judgement and advice to subcontractors, contractors, clients and others working on site.
  • Communicate any identified discrepancies or variations from the field (inclusive of construction non-conformances) program to the Project Manager.

This Role Is Suitable For Candidates Possessing The Following
  • Bachelor or Master of Engineering, Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Environmental Science and have suitable.
  • Completion of a Waste Management and/or Design university subject as part of either a Bachelor or Master of Engineering would be advantageous.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a similar role, with the majority of that experience field based.
  • Strong written, reporting and verbal communication skills.
  • Compliance with health, safety and environment policies, standards and procedures.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated and problem solving attitude.
  • Willingness to travel.

Applicants Should Also Possess The Following
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with peers and clients.
  • A current driver’s licence.
  • WorkSafe approved Construction Induction training (White Card) – or equivalent.
