Source: uWorkin

The company

A highly reputable Melbourne land development specialist; known for the work in the land development arena, both greenfield and brownfield. A team built based on meritocracy, shared values, a drive for excellent, simplicity and respect for the industry.

The vacancy
Organic growth in the Victorian market in the last quarter has led them to be hiring a Civil Design Engineer with Victorian experience in 12D.
New projects recently awarded and with more expected to follow; this business is burgeoning with renewed enthusiasm and confidence.
We seek a Civil Design Engineer who can look after a projects end to end with minimal supervision. You’ll design sewer, water, roads and drainage for large, medium and small lots with a reporting line to a Project Manager as well as an experienced, down-to-earth Director.
The role
You'll be working in an office consisting of around 20 colleagues: Management, Project Managers, Engineers and Drafters and admin support as well as a Survey team.
The team is relatively small; small but excellent; and as such, you must be happy to be Hands On, willing to help out with a range of tasks.
Your main focus will be design. Other tasks may include occasional drafting, arranging end of week team lunch, shopping for milk for the office kitchen, doing a coffee run. Sense and sensibility rules here and everyone pitches in.

Your attributes

  • We seek someone with tertiary education, ideally with 5-20 years’ Victorian land development design experience (because this makes it so much easier when working with councils and knowing design codes).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. The office is small, communication is professional yet fun. A jovial out of work and a sense of ease with life would be welcomed.
  • Design accreditation (DAS) would bode well
  • Drafting experience
  • A sense of pride in your work and enthusiasm for life
