This role will be responsible of leading the technical design, solutioning and build of Temenos client applications.

As Solution Architect you will be part of mixed teams and will have colleagues from both Temenos and our Customers. You need too be efficient in managing their own daily tasks as you'll work on your own or in very small project teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review technical hand over from Pre-Sales.
  • Background analysis of the client.
  • Analyse and quickly understand the client business processes and where Temenos can fit.
  • Plan the workshop with client.
  • Facilitate discovery workshops.
  • Document within the workshop to capture requirements, proposed solution and implementation method.
  • Convey complex technical concepts in layman terms to clients.
  • Diplomatically deal with questions and lack of technical knowledge/understanding.
  • Liaise with client IT staff and third parties to further elaborate on proposed solution.
  • Review and analyse technical documentation provided by the client.
  • Liaise with client business functions to elaborate technical requirements.
  • Liaise with other Temenos Solution Architects to ensure Best Practice solution.
  • Define a Best Practice solution ensuring a good fit for the Temenos Journey platform (Avoka Platform)
  • Fully document the proposed solution using Best Practice diagramming and technical definitions.
  • Negotiate scope and an MVP approach with client.
  • Present the solution from both technical and sales perspectives.
  • Provide a solution roadmap to the client.
  • Ensure all assumptions and exclusions are well documented.
  • Negotiate with the client to come to an agreed solution.
  • Share the final solution outline with the Implementation team
  • Assist planning of technical tasks with Developers.
  • Technically manage, mentor and oversee the solution to ensure Best Practice.
  • Estimate completion rates against allocated budget.
  • Update the solution design.
  • Monitor and manage scope creep via stakeholder management and good communication.
  • Oversee project infrastructure e.g., SCM, CI/CD.
  • Ensure definition of Done e.g., code review, unit tests, documentation.
  • Ongoingly act as a technical buffer to the core team.
  • Agree on delivery implementation with client.
  • Oversee facilitation e.g., run sheets/release documentation, CI/CD.
  • Work with client on production verification testing.

Skills & Experience

  • Makes good decisions (without considering how much time it takes) based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience, and judgment.
  • Can negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups.
  • Looks toward the broadest possible view of an issue/challenge.
  • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions.
  • Able to write clearly and succinctly in a variety of communication settings and styles.
  • Degree qualified in computer science, computer engineering or similar.
  • 5+ years of experience in JAVA software development.
  • 5+ years of experience in the SDLC as a developer and / or solution architect.
  • 2+ years of experience in technology solution architecture. Assessing, designing and estimating software projects.
  • Experience with automated testing, Continuous integration / continuous deployment.
  • Solution Implementation and design, focusing on best in class customer experience (CX) web applications.
  • Experience with automated testing, Continuous integration / continuous deployment.
  • Automated deployments using tools like Jenkins, TeamCiti.
  • Source Code Management using Git & GitFlow, code merging and reviews.
  • Programing languages: Groovy / Java (mandatory); JavaScript (mandatory), HTML, CSS.
  • Team player and good communication skills.
