Job Description Working within the power generation and distribution industry, this large scale company is now seeking a Contracts Engineer to come on board for an initial 9 month contract with view to extension to permanency.

Reporting to the Contracts Manager, you will play a key role across a number of projects providing a mix of commercial contracts management and assisting in project management. Your duties will include:

  • Manage project controlling tasks and financials in SAP, including creation of projects, manage associated financial tasks, creation of purchase orders, invoicing, variations and costs capturing.
  • Provide contract knowledge and support the company's standard terms and conditions and the impact upon the contract of differing and/or additionally accepted terms and conditions.
  • Plan project execution from start to finish, including necessary activities, procurements, resources and milestones.
  • Manage planned activities including schedule difficulties accordingly.
  • Install a valid Project Safety plan.
  • Control project cost and cash flow.
  • Status and progress reporting to relevant stakeholders.
  • Issue purchasing requisitions for internal and sometimes external suppliers of products and services included in assigned projects.
  • Manage scope and changes in business system.
To be successful in the role you will have extensive experience using SAP to manage project financials as well as strong Contracts Management knowledge. You will also have:
  • Managed multiple projects from a commercial stance predominately in the range of $1-20 Million
  • Previous experience within engineering, infrastructure or mining organisations to fully understand how the projects are run.
  • Strong business led collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding and mitigation of risks identified during sales or execution in assigned contracts.
  • Understanding and use of Full Cost Calculation/Model and different revenue recognition methods.
  • Be proactive and agile in approach.
