The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia's Aerospace Engineering & Production Capability provides people, expertise, process and tools to manage aircraft design, repair and continuing airworthiness capabilities supporting program execution and growth opportunities. Forward looking, our team has developed a Capability Plan to meet our defence customers' evolving needs, both in Australia and internationally.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Manufacturing Engineer join our team supporting the cutting edge aviation platforms that are being supported by Boeing Defence Australia. In this role you will apply your knowledge and experience to a broad range of designs across the engineering Lifecycle, establishing build plans, regulatory compliance, applying LEAN principles, ensuring first-time quality and corrective action resolution. We are looking for someone who will embrace our company's behaviours and is willing to innovate.

This role is based in Brisbane.


In this role you will:  

  • Coordinate and implement new engineering principles, theories, advanced technologies and concepts.
  • Provide guidance on the build and compliance reporting to ensure the production products conform to the product design.
  • Develop and implement production and tooling methodologies.
  • Lead and implement manufacturing plans.
  • Implement Lean principles and technologies.
  • Assist in providing producibility information for inclusion in project plans and help document producibility best practices
  • Conduct producibility and variation analyses to ensure that manufacturing process capability matches requirements.
  • Analyse design/build concepts to evaluate producible design/build definitions.
  • HoldTertiary qualifications with a minimum of 7 - 10 years' experience in relevant technical disciplines.
  • Have experience in delivering/integrating systems within Aerospace, Defence or complex engineering project environments will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in manufacturing and production environments.
