Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Global Architecture, you will:

  • Partner with regional architecture and delivery teams to ensure that architecture foundations and fundamentals are relevant and being reused consistently.
  • Provide consultation services to regional teams on strategy development & portfolio planning, projects with significant architecture changes, and critical system operation issues
  • Develop architecture designs (at conceptual and logical level) of large and complex systems in the enterprise with the aim to make the systems sustainable and future-proof after they have been realized and to provide risk management and risk controls to programs and projects carrying out enterprise transformation and realizing large and complex systems.
  • Support Technology Strategy, Standards, & Architecture Roadmap development and work with domain architects & SMEs to develop related implementation options.
  • Build Systems Landscape Insights for the Region using the Planview Capability and Technology Management Module to aid capability based planning and current state maturity assessments.
  • Coach Regional Teams and build awareness for BHP standards, design patterns and reference architectures.

Core Accountabilities
  • Provide architectural leadership by developing architectural models, roadmaps and integrated plans showing how technology initiatives are transforming and improving work across the Asset/Region.
  • Captures and prioritises market and environmental trends, business strategies and objectives, and identifies the business benefits of alternative strategies.
  • Provide technical consultation to Opportunity Assessment & Portfolio prioritization, and support feasibility studies including developing high-level business models & business cases
  • Provide visualization and analysis of complex issues in their cohesion with different stakeholder perspectives and is responsible for keeping the asset focused enterprise architectures up to date.
  • Support the reconciliation of conflicting demands or functions in a design with ingenious technical solution options working closely with regional architects and technical leads.
  • Align the asset centric integrated system models, roadmaps and plans by working with Delivery Managers, Regional Architects, Domain Architects, System Engineers, Regional Digital Factory Team, Cloud Acceleration team, Cyber Security team & regional delivery teams
  • Support ongoing technical reviews through the Regional Architecture panel process and provide technical directions for escalated technical issues.
  • Identify critical fundamental standards and design patterns that underpin work across the regional technology portfolio and on how to embed these patterns with the technology delivery work across the region. Translate business practices and processes into architectures to enable delivery of appropriate solutions.
  • Be responsible for asset /region focused deliverable like memos, Region/asset architecture roadmap, Region domain architecture blueprints, region/asset business functions model, region/asset architecture technical model (App-Co-Op), reference architectures, functional specifications, cost estimates, stakeholder analysis, Regional User Requirements repository, Use case/ scenario analysis, impact analysis, risk assessments, views of models from different viewpoints and architecture visualizations.
