About the role:

We are currently on the lookout for a skilled Technical Services Engineer to work in our Pilbara Metals team. The primary purpose of this Perth based role will be to provide engineering and technical support to our vast range of Open-Cut metals customers in the Pilbara region of WA.

Our Technical Service Engineers are the face of our company, assisting our customers and operations teams by providing technical expertise and input on blasting on a variety of client mine sites. They play a key role in optimising and revolutionising the way our customers mine, and are critical to bringing our technology to life on our customer sites all over the world.

The successful candidate will interface with a diverse group of customers and sites, providing technical solutions on the application of our products. Customers look to our Technical Services Engineers and Blast Technicians to solve practical blasting challenges, allowing our people to showcase their technical skills and create discreet solutions for clients.

A moderate amount of travel to support our customer sites will be expected of the successful candidate.


What you will be doing:


  • Managing technical blasting projects to deliver value to our customers;
  • Working with our customers to prioritise projects whilst utilising our global network of experts to deliver these projects;
  • Assisting with technology and product deployment across the region;
  • Developing long-term partnerships with Orica's customers;
  • Supporting our customer's blasting technical requirements;
  • Managing our customer technical relationship and managing your time to engagement and interface with key sites;
  • Continually improving your technical expertise in our products and services.



What you will bring:


  • Degree qualification in Mining Engineering or a related discipline with 3-6 years of experience in the mining industry;
  • Solid technical experience in drill & blast, preferably in varied surface mining environments;
  • An ability to work autonomously as well as part of a tightly functioning team;
  • Experience in managing blast related environmental conditions including vibration and fume control;
  • Commitment to partnering with customers and your team while being accountable for your actions;
  • A mindset to always looks for better ways to deliver value.
