SIMEC Mining, a member of GFG Alliance, has operations in SA and NSW. Our Iron Ore mining operations in South Australia's Middleback Ranges, south of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. Administration functions and ore processing and shipping facilities are located within the city limits of Whyalla, with corporate functions based in Adelaide and Sydney.

About the role
Reporting to the Manager WHS Systems & Governance, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of the WHS Management System and governance frameworks, by developing and maintaining accurate, accessible and easy-to-read documents in conjunction with effective multi-media and communication activities and programs. You will achieve this by:

  • Researching and preparing SIMEC Mining WHS policies, standards, processes, guides, technical bulletins and other documentation requirements
  • Working with WHS and Operational teams to ensure relevant WHS documentation is clearly articulated in simple to read language, including legal and technical obligations with clear guidance for the business regarding expectations.
  • Actively participating in the implementation of WHS system projects and initiatives within the business
  • Supporting the facilitation of WHS system training within operations
  • Developing multi-media and online material as appropriate

About your experience
