JOB DESCRIPTION

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team of developers based in the Sydney timezone. You'll be part of our new Commerce Cloud Platform (CCP) team, where we are crafting a brand-new platform that will transform the Atlassian Cloud billing and payments systems.

This team is a key part of the foundational initiative of unifying Pricing, Product Catalog, Subscriptions, and Billing engines across all Atlassian Cloud products, to unlock Atlassian’s ability to scale to a $10B company. We will use this to unify the billing for all of the current Atlassian products as well as any newly invented products or acquisitions.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and functionality to support Atlassian in ultimately moving all the products onto the new platform. You will work closely with product management to influence the direction of our new platform and break down the steps to get there. You'll collaborate with developers to ensure they build reliable, scalable services & strive for technical & operational excellence. 

On your first day, we'll expect you to have:

    • Significant experience with large scale distributed systems and microservices in cloud
    • Strong organization and interpersonal skills
    • Experience developing a team of developers
    • Employee performance & growth management
    • Ability to drive technical decisions, innovation, quality, and outcomes
    • Understanding of SaaS, PaaS, LaaS industry with hands on experience with public cloud offerings (e.g., AWS, Azure)

It's great if you have:

    • eCommerce / Billing experience
    • Experience with continuous delivery and deployment
    • Solving complex business problems and the proven ability to share with the wider team.
    • Passion for innovation and improvement
    • A strong collaborative attitude
