Talent International are currently recruiting for a DevOps Engineer to work for a financial institution based in Brisbane. This is an initial 6 month contract with potential to extend.

The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our systems, in particular member facing web services such as Online and Mobile Banking, and lending systems; a variety of back end and internal business systems as well as the CI/CD pipeline. It is a mixture of a systems engineer, systems administration and application support with strong IT generalist, problem solving and interpersonal skills.

Required Skills

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Microsoft Windows Server - including the installation and support of applications and operating system patches
• Openshift - experience with pod management, troubleshooting, configuration
• Experience with automation of build and deployment processes - Rundeck, Jenkins, version control software (Git/SVN)
• Scripting language knowledge, e.g. bash scripting, powershell
• Supporting and troubleshooting applications in an enterprise environment, log file analysis (Splunk)
• Exposure to Microsoft SQL Server, and experience with web application servers such as IIS and JBOSS
• Coordination of technical activities across multiple IT teams
• System change management experience in a change controlled environment - ServiceNow, CAB
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a variety of audiences
• Ability to work after hours as part of an on-call roster, and for application deployments as required
