JOB DESCRIPTION

ABOUT THE ROLE

Danpal Australia is currently looking for a full-time Quantity Surveyor to join their team located in Auburn. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in the construction industry with a quantity surveyor background and possess a positive working attitude.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Review and study of architectural packages, including specifications and structural drawings, to provide detailed BoM project estimate.
  • Preparation of detailed cost proposals and estimates from design development briefs for budget planning and value engineering.
  • Review and assessment of revised architectural plans and addendums for technical suitability and cost variations.
  • Study of architectural design and structural restraints to determine appropriate fixing methods and product framing for accurate project estimate and assess technical suitability.
  • Use of CAD to complete detailed take-offs for project estimate, according to specifications and/or to suit structural and design requirements and ensure product suitability.
  • Coordinating with Architects, Engineers, and builders throughout the construction process.
  • organising and directing the fabrication and delivery of construction materials.
  • Analysing and managing risks associated with QS function.
  • advising and consulting about building compliance issues.
  • Establishing and executing building contacts and negotiating contracts particulars.
  • Preparing contractual and technical documentation for clients.
  • Preparing submissions of costing proposals.
  • Co-ordinating product testing and consultant assessments to suit regulatory requirements.

Skills required:

  • RICS accredited Degree qualified in construction management/quantity surveying.
  • A solid background in a range of building types.
  • Previous experience as a quantity surveyor with a builder or subcontractors. 1-2 years of work experience required.
  • Ability to read and navigate plans, specifications, and tender documents.
  • Problem solving skills – Ability to think innovatively to solve complex construction issues during construction phase.
  • Proficient in Auto CAD.
  • Have good experience and knowledge in the MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects.

Salary: $65K – $75K plus super depending on the experience.
