Based in Maryborough, the Technology Engineer is responsible for providing technology services in a customer focused manner that enables the highest performance of all SCA staff, whilst also ensuring all Southern Cross Austereo technology equipment and systems are functioning at their optimum capacity and capability.

As our newest SCA team member, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing support for all local and national content, news, production and administrative business infrastructure
  • Diagnosing, managing, and actioning escalated work from other technology team members and managing third parties where appropriate
  • Proactively recommending and managing implementation of changes to Southern Cross Austereo systems and services in collaboration with the Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Audio Systems Manager, Playout Manager, and other National Team members
  • Assisting in managing the day to day operations proactively integrating and communicating with other functional units and executives to achieve service delivery expectations.
  • Assisting and contributing with the development and resource management of the annual project plan.
  • Assisting as needed with operational and capital technology budgets.
  • Assisting as required with managing and coordinating team rosters
  • Conducting maintenance, installation and repair of all technology systems which are either owned, leased and/or used by Southern Cross Austereo
  • Ensuring that on-air studios, news, production, ICT equipment, outside broadcast equipment and transmission equipment is performing to correct specifications and standards, and that regular maintenance is carried out
  • Ensuring all standby systems such as studio to transmitter links and generators are tested at least once per month
  • Assisting in the design and installation of new facilities and equipment; repair, design, maintain and install technical equipment and keep a clean and efficient workshop facility as directed
  • Performing other tasks as requested by the Engineering Manager, Head of Engineering, Audio Systems Manager, Playout Manager and General Manager
  • Co-ordinate and supervise third party contractors when necessary
  • Attend WH&S meetings if required
  • As needed, assist with the technical setup of Outside Broadcast, Sport and other Events

Additionally, you will have:

  • A relevant qualification in Electronic Engineering; or
  • A Certificate III in Electrotechnology - Communications; and
  • 3 years’ experience in contemporary studio and RF transmission systems; or
  • 3 years’ experience in practical Electrotechnology - Electrical Trades
  • Desirable to have good knowledge and experience of SQL, C++, C#, PHP, Java, CCNA

In return, you will be offered an attractive base salary of $55,637.22 + Superannuation.
