Due to continued growth, we are now seeking applications from experienced Project Engineers to join our Welshpool Workshop. This role will see you working Monday to Friday on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Operation Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Carry out engineering and project coordination scopes of work as directed
  • Review and relay specifications, scopes of work, schedules and other project documentation
  • Prepare Scopes of Work for vendor and sub-contractor engagement
  • Respond to stakeholder technical clarifications
  • Prepare cost estimates or assist with the preparation of cost estimates and proposals
  • Assist with the preparation of project schedules and methodologies
  • Assist with monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems
  • Assist with controlling project costs by reviewing expenditures and helping administer Contractor/Vendor contracts
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analysing, and summarising information and trends; recommending actions
  • Ensures works are compliant to relevant Australian Standards, Statutory Requirements, and Client Specifications
  • Develop workable solutions in collaboration with engineering/admin staff
  • Ensure a high standard of delivery to clients
  • Control and record information from clients relative to projects/proposals under your control
  • Issue Technical Queries and Non-Conformances as appropriate
  • Assist with the preparation of engineering documentation as required
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Comply with RCR’s quality management systems
  • Obtain quotations from RCR’s supply chain as required
  • Submit quotations following peer/management review
  • Help enhance processes and procedures within the group where possible
  • Provide a mentor role to trainees and less experienced engineers/staff
To be considered for this position you will require:
  • Degree Qualification (or equivalent) in Engineering
  • 3+ years’ experience in a Project Engineering role
  • Has experience in the Mining and Resource industry
  • Ensures works are compliant to relevant Australian Standards, Statutory Requirements, and Client Specifications
  • Possess strong computer skills and is competent with MS Office suite
  • Can read and interpret technical drawings
  • Understands quality management systems
  • Has excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to respond to a changing work environment
  • Has experience with AutoDesk AutoCAD and AutoDesk Navisworks
  • Understands tendering/estimating
