Company Overview

Our client is an iconic and well-known organisation and they are seeking an experienced and dynamic People, Culture & Safety Manager to lead the team and foster a positive culture within their organisation.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this key position is responsible for the effective development and implementation of HR and WHS strategies, policies and processes in order to support the organisation in achieving its business objectives. This generalist role will be required to work with a range of stakeholders to facilitate change and develop a positive culture among the team, in alignment with the organisational values.

Other key responsibilities of this role include: -

  • Managing the development, design, review and implementation of HR & WHS policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Developing and executing HR and WHS initiatives, strategies and tools to ensure compliance across the organisation;
  • Managing HR operations such as recruitment, training and development, performance review, ER/IR, EB negotiation process;
  • Developing and managing safety systems, refining WHS practices as well as coordinating WHS audits and risk assessment, site inspections and WHS incident reporting;
  • Overseeing the performance management process, which may involve investigating and assisting with the resolution of misconduct and performance-related issues.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role with extensive knowledge and understanding of HR & WHS practices;
  • Experience in writing, reviewing and/or overseeing policies, procedures and guidelines with the ability to provide advice and policy interpretation;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to coach and influence others;
  • Strong ER/IR experience including interpreting enterprise agreements, industrial instruments, grievance and complaint investigation/resolution required;
  • Change management experience with proven ability to introduce positive change within the organisation.

The successful candidate will possess tertiary qualifications in HR and/or WHS with proven generalist HR experience and a sound understanding of HR and WHS legislation. This role is suitable for a hands on, flexible and motivated leader, who possesses strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously and use initiative to adapt to the changing needs of the business.
