JOB DESCRIPTION

Qualifications and previous experience

- Around 10 years of previous relevant experience in rail signalling design and drafting and should demonstrate thorough understanding of rail signalling principles.

- Must hold a RIW card with Metro Trains Melbourne Level 2 Statement of competency in at least 2 design areas.

  • Undertake preliminary and detailed signalling designs (Signalling Plan, Cable Running Plan, Bonding Plan, Control Table, Power Calculations, Location / SER and REB Designs, design reports).
  • Should have thorough understanding of MTM and Vline signalling standards
  • Manage signalling design workflow from preliminary to IFC and review gates.
  • Provide design support during testing and commissioning.
  • Update As in service designs updates.
  • Attend meetings and respond to technical queries verbally or by email.
  • Knowledge of CBI, relay based interlocking and axle counters.
