Our Defence and Social Infrastructure team service the Australian Defence Force by Facilities Maintenance services for Defence sites and buildings within our remit. Our Defence team carry out complex works and projects to support a high-quality delivery of our services.

We are now seeking a Graduate Project Engineer with a specialty in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering to carry out complex works and support complex works onsite with site SME's across Victoria & Tasmania. This is a permanent full time role, based in Melbourne VIC.

Key responsibilities of the role includes:

  • Assist in simple Project Management Oversight and Management.
  • Assist in data analysis of Asset performance across relevant disciplines applicable to engineering field of specialisation.
  • Lead Investigations for root cause analysis into failures of mechanical plant and apparatus.
  • Lead Master data updates for technical equipment and assets.
  • Audit contract or technical document upload adherence.
  • Provide technical support to operations as directed by the Regional Project Engineer
  • Represent as a senior technical lead within the Region on behalf of the Regional Project Engineer where required

Required skills to be successful in this role:

  • Relevant formal qualification (Degree/Advanced Diploma/Diploma/Trade Certificate) in Mechanical Engineering or equivalency in field and industry related discipline
  • Demonstrated management and organisational skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in collaborative and consultative processes at a professional level.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Demonstrated written technical communication and IT skills.
  • An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
