JOB DESCRIPTION
This role will be responsible for architecting and engineering DevOps, Containerisation and Application Modernisation solutions across a diverse customer base. You will be a generalist in DevOps, Cloud, Automation and have experience in creating modern delivery systems. You will also use and contribute to open-source tools that assist in configuration management, deployment and operation of high-availability, high-performance applications. Our customers will look to you for leadership, clarity of thought and to be a partner in there IT transformations. Rackspace Technology is the multi-cloud experts. Key Requirements –
- 6+ years commercial experience as either a LAMP stack software developer and/or systems administrator with at least 3 years of current commercial experience as a DevOps Engineer working with a high-traffic site.
- Experience with high-availability, high-performance, open source web technologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms, open source databases and caching layers
- Expert web programming and scripting ability.
- Expert automation skills with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar shell scripting tools.
- Expert in Terraform, with experience in ARM Templates and/or CloudFormation.
- Expert knowledge of Open Cloud APIs and SDKs.
- Experience in Site Reliability Engineering
- Strong skills in log management, metrics and observability
- Broad knowledge of the following with deep knowledge of several: PHP, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Memcached, LAMP, nginx, node.js, nosql, Varnish, git.
- Strong knowledge of software development methodologies including code profiling, regression testing, and continuous integration.
- Strong knowledge of infrastructure concepts in order to develop high performing and effective operational tools, and to supervise efficient troubleshooting of infrastructure related issues.
