The Opportunity

We are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our innovative and highly motivated team. With a strong electrical engineering aptitude, you will be responsible for driving some key projects and initiatives.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out assigned Electrical Engineering activities within the team from project start-up to project close-out.
  • Design of DC electrical systems including PV module design and power network connection, DC Cable selection and wiring types, protection and isolation devices, inverter DC input requirements, battery and UPS systems for autonomous power stations for portable standalone camera systems and crowd control systems.
  • Design, project management, maintain, asset management & integration of CCTV, electronic access control, intercom, intruder alarm, fire systems, building management systems with associated electrical, UPSs, networking IT infrastructure, virtual servers, microwave networking link, structured/fibre optic cabling systems. Design & upgrade control & equipment rooms.
  • Undertake technical investigations, root cause analysis and solution identification.
  • Attending project and client sites and performing measurements, configuration, data logging, evaluation, analysis, and visual observations to determine and supervise resources required to ensure project completion, on time, within budget, achieving project goals and client requirements.
  • Preparation of project documentation (schematics, singe line diagrams, termination diagrams, technical datasheets, scope of work documents, commissioning plans, layout drawings) of Electrical Services, security and data networks.
  • Preparing project specifications, budgets and timelines with clients to meet client requirements, Australian Standards/Building Code of Australia (BCA) requirements and to comply with the standards and quality expected.
  • Ensuring work is completed to a high standard, consistency of work quality and that all work is carried out in accordance with applicable codes and standards, procedures, and the basis of design.
  • Develop and keep up to date electrical drawings and documentation
  • Managing assigned work to meet project needs and proactively working with other team members to ensure those project goals are met.
  • Ensuring costs are effectively controlled on assigned work and ensuring work is completed within budgeted timeframes
  • Communication with project management team, electricians and external engineering consultants 
  • Cooperate with all measures introduced by management to minimise Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) risks.
  • Attend client meetings/site inspections

Essential Criteria

  • University Degree graduate in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 + years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer within a building services environment.
  • Sound knowledge with electronic security and CCTV systems
  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical or Revit
  • Experience with Milestone, NxWitness
  • Experience with Gallagher, Integriti and Challenger security systems are an advantage
  • The ability to complete design and analysis of electrical, communications, security, and data services for the construction industry; with comprehensive knowledge of local building codes and standards.
