Our client is an extremely successful global OEM with extensive expertise in providing integrated equipment to the underground coal mining industry.

Based on the outskirts of Newcastle this position will require a talented and experienced Maintenance Estimator/Planner with a proven background in a fast paced maintenance environment.

This is a very unique role that will require a person with a strong maintenance background in underground mining equipment to work to prepare actuate estimate of costs for the overhaul and maintenance projects

The key challenge of this role will be the ability to work closely with customers, workshop and planners to actually projected costs for all labour and materials.

Your responsibilities and skills required will including;

  • Estimate costings for quotes/tenders, i.e. labour, materials and subcontractors.
  • Liaise effectively with suppliers, contractors & customers to ensure tenders/quotes meet their needs and schedules.
  • Build and develop client and supplier relationships.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of projects.
  • Experience working with computerised maintenance management system (CMMS);
  • Understanding and previous experience working with work packages for planned maintenance activities
  • Manage work orders, documentation, parts consumed and asset history within the CMMS;
  • Obtain parts quotes, raise requisitions and update site registers;
  • Manage spare parts and the alignment between the maintenance team and stock on site;
  • Coordinate daily as well as weekly planning meetings related with maintenance;
  • experience working with schedules and Gantt charts for planned shutdowns;
  • Obtain Supplier quotes for services and schedule site works

about you;

  • Solid experience in fixed plant repair and maintenance;
  • Up to date mechanical knowledge with fixed plant equipment;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage people in a workshop environment;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills;
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of a CMMS;
  • Knowledge of WH&S regulations;
  • Ability to prioritise workload to minimise downtime of equipment;
  • Significant experience with JDE is advantageous;
  • Positive, proactive approach to safety;
  • Commitment to working as part of a team; and
  • Strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service.
