JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Purpose

To coordinate and manage maintenance services to meet the needs of the business units and improve plant and equipment operational availability.

Key Accountabilities

Safety

Ensure that all work undertaken by contractors is compliant within the site health safety and environment policy and guidelines to eliminate all injuries and accidents.

Compliance

Ensure that all work and actions within the control of this position are compliant with all local and statutory authorities’ guidelines and regulations to meet all our licences obligations.

Work Allocation

Ensure that the appropriate contractors are identified and assigned to the ‘job requestor’, based on the priority and urgency of the task, so that all jobs are attended to within an appropriate & agreed time frame.

Site Maintenance

Ensure all maintenance work is prioritised, carried out and programmes are in place within the site manufacturing plants so that all equipment is maintained in a reliable and safe condition within an appropriate & agreed time frame. Ensure all works and actions within the control of this position comply with the AkzoNobel Asset Integrity Guideline systems.



  • Maintenance Spares

    Ensure that the level of maintenance spare parts inventory meets the levels as agreed with the Engineering Manager and plant managers, and in accordance with R&M budget guidelines, to maximise plant on line availability.

    Reporting

    Produce monthly maintenance reports for reporting Manager on a range of KPI’s (as directed by your Manager) so that your Manager is fully informed of the work that has been undertaken for the plants.

    Conduct contractor reviews on contractor performance and value as directed by your Manager so that the company can achieve maximum value for the R&M spend.

    Process Safety Management

    Support the Maintenance function to implement the relevant Process Safety Management (PSM) building blocks into the Australia and New Zealand business and, once implemented, ensure that the relevant building blocks are maintained at least an 'Integrated' level.

    To be a successful candidate you will have:
    • Degree in Engineering (Chemical or Mechanical)
    • Minimum 5 years’ of experience in related industry
    • Experience in managing a team as well as supervisory of contractors
