JOB DESCRIPTION

The position of Survey Checker / Coordinator will take ownership of the survey department to ensure site survey plans are completed accurately and submitted on time whilst also assisting the CRM Geotechnical to drive continuous improvements in this department.

Survey Checker / Coordinator Responsibilities & Duties

Primary

  • Assisting the CRM to ensure in full on time delivery of cost effective and fully compliant Survey Service.
  • Analyze field investigations and prepare and/or check survey plans for residential and commercial projects.
  • Take ownership of the workflow in respect to survey process by working with other team members and external/internal drafting facilities/ subcontractors to ensure that surveys are completed accurately and submitted on time.
  • Provide leadership and support to survey team members including on site field survey technicians and draftsmen as required.
  • Liaise with clients to respond to technical enquiries.
  • Identify appropriate improvements to automate and speed up the overall process from collection of field work data through to completion of survey plans.
  • Ensure documentation prepared is watertight and done to minimize risk and not damage business reputation in any way.
  • Hands on experience with robotic total station and RTK GPS system
  • Hands on experience with drafting survey plan and AutoCAD
  • Ability to perform under pressure and to deadlines
  • High level attention to detail and good time management skills
  • Australian working rights are essential
Other
  • Participate in meetings as required and actively suggesting areas for improvement.
  • Participate in tool box meeting to maintain focus on customer and promote healthy working culture with team members.
  • Mentor and train any new team members or other team members where required.
  • Provide improvement suggestions to increase productivity of the team in meetings in all areas of the business including for example new drafting modules, automation of check sheets etc.
  • Actively participate in promoting innovation including engaging with clients in the view of promoting collaborative research and development.
  • Identify errors and opportunities for improvement via the company proposed NCR system and assist to close out.
  • Any other duties as required from time to time

Qualifications
  • Minimum Diploma or Tertiary qualifications relevant to Surveying
  • at least two years of experience in surveying practice.
