The Role
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to apply what you’ve studied – working in the field solving real-world challenges, challenges that span and extend beyond your discipline. You will have the opportunity to gain valued experience in engineering design, reliability and project management.

The Engineering teams have a strong working relationship with the mining and metallurgical assets and life cycle management team. There is a strong focus on preventative maintenance, delivering consistent results which are reflected in the low down-time on our equipment. This role will see you actively involved with HV and LV power distribution, fixed plant electrical equipment and distributed control systems.

A typical day will involve working under the guidance of an experienced team, assisting with designing, developing, supporting the installation, operations and maintenance of electrical systems for a Copper Concentrator, with exposure to an underground mining operation. In addition, you will also be provided with opportunities to work on instrumentation, control systems, communications equipment, operational technology networks and other industrial applications. Seeing the effort you invest manifest into material improvements to our business is rewarding, but not without its hurdles.

The successful applicant will have
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) or similar;
  • Have graduated from university within the last 2 years or are expected to graduate by June 2021;
  • A strong safety focus; and
  • Advanced computer literacy.
Key benefits of the role
  • Receive structured, professional development with a real focus on on-the-job experience;
  • Have scheduled networking and social events with other graduates and members of the senior management teams;
  • Be mentored by experienced professionals in your field and receive practical support from business leaders;
  • Attend a structured Graduate Professional Development Program designed to accelerate your leadership potential; and ultimately
  • Be assisted to achieving your chosen career trajectory, with many of our graduates going on to become leaders in our business.
This role will be offered residentially based in Cloncurry, DIDO from Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville, Cairns or Brisbane (local allowance and benefits will apply for residential applicants). The successful candidate will work twelve (12) hour days on an eight (8) days on, six (6) days off roster. Applications will only be accepted via quoting reference number 37232.
