An opportunity exists at Oaky Creek Coal, Oaky North Mine for a Mechanical Services Engineer who strives to achieve high quality performance and results. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager (MEM), you will be part of a dynamic, experienced and supportive team.

The Mechanical Services Engineer will be responsible for managing asset capability and delivery. As part of your role you will develop project schedules, solutions, budgets and business cases. The ability to interpret Legislation, Acts and Codes is essential in being able to assess whether site mechanical equipment is compliant with relevant standards and guidelines.

A mechanical engineering degree or trade is essential in this role as you will be required to verify design limitations of mechanical equipment and validate fit for purpose. You will also review shiftly delays, participate in site root cause analysis (RCA) activities and be involved in the planning and implementation of LOM strategies relevant to your area.

An understanding of commercial practices is preferred as the successful applicant will be involved in asset cost control, creating budgets, reviewing expenditure and forecasting and managing area capital spend.

In order to be successful in these tasks, the role requires a driven individual who demonstrates high levels of organisation and attention to detail. Candidates must have experience in mining maintenance, while having an excellent problem solving ability and interpersonal skills.
