About the role

Eastern Health has an excellent opportunity for a Biomedical Engineer to join the BME team helping to maintain comprehensive service delivery to Eastern Health hospitals within a supportive team environment.

Successful applicants will be assisting in the delivery of a comprehensive biomedical engineering service by performing clinical troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance.

This position offers a fabulous opportunity at a Grade 1 level.

About you

To be successful in this role you should possess:

• Formal qualifications in Biomedical Engineering or equivalent


• Eligible for membership to Engineers Australia or ACPSEM


• Knowledge of the relevant Australian Standards & their application to medical equipment


• An ability to communicate with clinical staff


• Self-motivation


• Intermediate computer hardware and software skills


• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task


• Good theoretical and practical knowledge of engineering, a sound understanding of medical sciences with the ability to combine the two

• A strong commitment to high quality care


• The ability to work as part of a diverse team


• Excellent communication and organisational skills
