The role
IAG are searching for an experienced Solutions Architect to join the Technology Strategy & Architecture team. Location is flexible; the role can be based in any capital city in Australia or New Zealand here we have an IAG team.

As a Solutions Architect you will be the key liaison between business subject matter experts and agile development teams. You will contribute to refine the solution to optimally meet business needs within known constraints (time, budget, quality, regulations and others). You will be customer focused, results driven and able to work collaboratively with our people, customers and partners. You will be passionate about developing your skills to best practice and delivering enhanced customer and business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis activities within an initiative/project to deliver enhanced customer and business outcomes
  • Identify, understand, analyse and communicate the customer process and information requirements of the overall solution
  • Develop functional specifications, describing the process and conceptual information requirements via appropriate methods, models and descriptions
  • Lead the refinement of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Review and contribute to technical designs, describing the solution to fulfil functional specifications
  • Develop cost and effort estimates on the proposed solution and analysis effort including implementation and costs of operation
  • Identify and capture initiative/project risks and issues
  • Contribute to the quality and completeness of test cases and other relevant artefacts
  • Build effective working relationships with initiative/project stakeholders
  • Align business and technology stakeholders around objectives and priorities

Skills & Experience

  • Solid experience working with Software as a Service (SaaS) platforms
  • Previous/Current experience as a Solution Architect, or as a Technical Lead looking to step in to Architecture
  • Experience working within regulated industries such as Insurance, Financial Service, Utilities or Telco
  • In-depth experience of developing functional and non-functional requirements
  • Comfortable working with both business and technical people, from senior management to line staff.
  • Strong ability to spot sensible, effective, straightforward, least risky, least complex solutions
