Located in Adelaide's Northern Suburbs our client have shown themselves to be a leader in the general engineering sector by manufacturing and supplying special purpose equipment and components to the Mining, Defence, Power and Water industries.
Due to growth within the company, there is an excellent opportunity for you to join the planning team. Reporting to the Planning Manager and working within a busy workshop you will have the opportunity to work on a range of projects and tasks and be responsible for the day to day planning of various engineering projects ensuring that jobs are manufactured in a timely and cost effective manner whilst continuing to meet the specifications and expectations of there clients.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Be To
Job tasks and responsibilities
- Create work orders from MRP system
- Create BOM's
- Place orders for materials and subcontract items and chase delivery dates
- Apply your trade knowledge to all situations involved with the Project(s) manufacture.
- Coordinate the planning of the projects to meet delivery time frames.
- Liaise with Department managers.
Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate some or all of the following key attributes:
- Have an Engineering Trade Background with a particular biased in all forms of Machining and fitting (Highly Regarded)
- Extensive Planning experience within an engineering jobbing shop environment (Highly Regarded)
- Experience in using MRP systems to develop the plan for the various workshop sections
- Have an excellent understanding of complex Engineering Drawings
- Experience with complex machining and fine tolerances using CNC and manual machining processes
- Outstanding communication skills
- Able to work on multiple Projects/Sales Orders at the same time
- Ability to articulate requirements of other relevant departments and control Subcontracted items
- Able to problem-solve effectively
- High attention to detail
- Extremely organised
- Strong MS Office Skills
