- National Urban Planning specialist
- Location - Parramatta
- Salary - $140,000 - $160,000 + Super
National company of urban planning specialists providing advice and services in strategic planning, statutory planning, integrated land use and transport planning, and urban analytics.
Their projects span across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, ranging from inner-city mixed-use development to large-scale housing estates in growth areas. Their focus is on high-quality negotiated development outcomes, working with some of Australia’s most reputable developers, Architects, and allied consultants.
ABOUT THE POSITION.
We are recruiting for an experienced Associate Director - Town Planning to join this national planning company in their Sydney CBD office or their Parramatta CBD office.
This position is an exciting opportunity for energetic and self-motivated Town Planner to work on a range of projects across Metropolitan Sydney, with a focus on large-scale transformational projects.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES.
The role will provide town planning services as a part of a Statutory Planning Team, which has a focus on major statutory and strategic planning projects.
Consultancy Services:
- Employ a thorough understanding of statutory, strategic, and land use planning principles at a strategic and technical level to provide practical and expert planning advice to clients and the project team.
- Provide high-quality deliverables across all three business areas including but not limited to Planning Proposals, Statement of Environmental Effects, Strategic Planning Reports, Clause 4.6 Variations, Expert advice and reports for Land and Environment Court,
- Direct and independent contact as a senior representative, with senior government agency staff (Council, DPE etc) to progress planning applications and consulting work
- Prepare, or manage the preparation of high-quality planning reports
- Direct contact with senior government agency staff
- Ability to manage and progress projects with minimal oversight including direct contact with client PMs
- Awareness and tracking of project budgets
- Management and prioritisation of competing deadlines, alerting Directors where capacity issues are foreseeable
- Prepare fee proposals and tender responses
- Awareness of planning trends and ability to identify further work opportunities from these for existing jobs and clients
- Contribute to the development of innovative analytical tools or digital products (desirable)
- Degree qualified in Town Planning or equivalent qualification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum 8 years experience, with prior experience in both private and public planning roles, preferred
