About the role

Are you looking to work on the type of projects that come around once in a blue moon? This is a fantastic opportunity to sink your teeth into a newly created role at Council that will help deliver a range of exciting projects for our community.

  • Want to work on a new Waste Transfer Facility project?
  • Build a bridge?
  • Projects for playgrounds, skateparks, sporting fields and facilities, recreation open space – we can offer them all to work on!

Honestly, it would be hard to find so many opportunities to work on projects like these in one role somewhere else. With the continued growth of our Local Government Areas road works-based activities, this position will see the delivery of both individual and team-based projects of up to $12 million, via both our internal works team and a range of external contractors.

About you

You will possess a Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or related field and will have eligibility for Civil Engineering registration with Professional Engineers Australia or the Institute of Engineers Australia, or equivalent. You will have experience working in a similar role and will possess contemporary industry knowledge and experience in supervision of contracts and control of labour relating to civil construction, maintenance and recreation works.

You will have a strong safety focus and as you will be supervising engineers involved in the delivery of projects across Council you will need to be an effective leader.

Further to this, you will have excellent communication and negotiation skills and a proven ability to produce business focussed reports and undertake tender processes.

Benefits

This is a permanent full-time role with a base salary ranging $102,593 up to $113,878 per year based on demonstrated competencies + civil liability allowance (3.5%) + 9.5% p.a. super. A private leaseback vehicle is on offer with this role.
