The role

We have a newly created opportunity for a Presales Engineer to join our team in Melbourne and support the Sales team with all elements of the presales process. This role suits a customer focused Presales Engineer with exceptional communication skills who is passionate about supporting customers and excited about opportunities to troubleshoot and resolve any queries that they have (both simple and complex!) The role also provides an opportunity to act as a subject matter expert for our customers and to be involved in demonstrations for customers, both virtually and in-person.


Other key responsibilities will include:

  • Assist the Sales team to qualify and quantify all opportunities within the assigned territory and support the sales effort by providing technical and best practice guidance to the sales process. This will include understanding the customers tech stack, integrations and needs and making recommendations as to the products and services that will solve customer needs
  • Demonstrate MessageMedia products and services to prospects and customers (face to face or remotely via webinar sessions)
  • Own the training and onboarding of new business deals to drive the successful onboarding of new customers and ensure they are equipped for success
  • Create and deliver accurate and technically correct sales presentations and RFI/RFPs to end users and partners
  • Champion product enhancements, upgrades and innovations from the field to the product teams and centralise communication to our customers, partners and sales team
  • Serve as a technical go to person for existing customers in conjunction with account management function
  • Work with system integrators/partners/resellers to guide them through technical implementation challenges
  • Provide account health checks and make recommendations to the customer and to the account management team to maximise the customer use of our platform and grow the footprint within the customer account


About You

  • Previous experience in a presales position with proven experience in being able to assess a customer’s requirements and align that to the company’s capabilities
  • The ability to build rapport and relationships in a pre-sales and post-sales environment
  • Interested in finding the most suitable technical solution to any given problem
  • Ability to convey complex technical topics to a non-technical audience
  • Solid understanding of the utilities/tools used in the software domains (e.g. CRM, E-commerce, ERP, PIM) coupled with programming skills
  • Experience working with and understanding REST API’s & JSON
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and comfortable having professional business engagements with C-level decision makers
