JOB DESCRIPTION

MEGT RMS in conjunction with our Host Employer, are looking for a mechanically minded superstar! Our Host Employer has been operating for over 80 years in the waste, recycling, and industrial services throughout Australia. The Host Employer has a fleet more than 250 heavy vehicles they use in everyday operations.

As a 1st Year Engineering Boilermaker Apprentice, you will be working alongside and learning from highly experienced tradesmen. This position would suit a candidate that has a keen interest in trucks or large machinery, as you will be working on these daily.

Your duties will include and not be limited to;

  • Interpret technical drawing and perform engineering measurements
  • Use of computer diagnostic equipment
  • Perform soldering, welding and mechanical cutting
  • Assisting tradesmen within the workshop with day to day duties
  • Assemble fabricated components
  • Repair, replace or modify fabrications
  • Using hand and power tools
  • Use and maintain workplace tools and equipment
  • Ensure workplace is kept clean and tidy

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this opportunity ideally you will have:

  • Drivers Licence (manual) and own transport
  • Completed Year 12 High School Education
  • Ability to demonstrate working in a team environment
  • Superior Safety Awareness
  • Work experience or completed relevant studies in automotive or engineering
  • Basic understanding of mechanics and demonstrate an interest in this field
  • Long term career goals to grow with the company
