JOB DESCRIPTION


You will assist the Chief Engineer in providing advice on matters of state interest regarding water infrastructure proposals and associated risks including reviewing proposals by consultants, contractors and development proponents.

Key Duties and Accountabilities

  • Review water infrastructure proposals and associated risks by consultants, contractors and development proponents to provide advice on matters of state interest.
  • Attend Technical Review Panel meetings as an observer for the state and provide advice regarding the veracity of the review process.
  • Assist in the development of robust Business Cases for proposals by participating in Project Working Group process.
  • Support Departmental officers involved in water infrastructure projects to enhance their understanding of the technical aspects and associated risks.
  • Provide timely and strategic advice to the Executive Director (ED), Deputy Director-General (DDG), Director-General and the Minister.
  • Develop and maintain productive and respectful internal working relationships and ensure that departmental officers and work groups are effectively involved and communicated with.
  • Cultivate effective partnerships with infrastructure proponents and skilfully negotiate with these key stakeholders enabling successful delivery of priority projects for the State.
  • Other duties as directed and required.
