The Role:
Karratha Gas Plant is undertaking a refurbishment project on the critical substations that supply all power required for production purposes. This project will ensure reliability until end of field life. Our integrated Asset and Projects engineering team delivers design, construction and commissioning services to achieve this. The Field Engineer is a critical role within that team.

The Electrical Field Engineer, under supervision, undertakes activities relating to construction engineering within the electrical discipline. Duties include interpreting electrical/instrumentation design drawings and specifications, verification of workpack completion, management of site technical queries, field verification of site conditions, and aiding construction/design personnel as required.

Candidate must be based in Karratha, no FIFO.

Duties & Responsibilities:

*Provide support to Customer and Project Engineering Teams on constructability and design issues for the electrical distribution upgrade project
*Provide commissioning engineering support for electrical construction activities and work to resolve issues prior to RFSU
*Work with customer's resident engineering and operating personnel to support the execution of electrical construction commissioning activities
*Develop responses to, and perform field verification for, engineering and construction queries to/from Perth and site
*Troubleshooting issues in equipment, and ensure that equipment is fully functional
*Establish a working relationship and lines of communication with the Senior System Engineer, Project teams based in both Perth and Karratha, and KGP Maintenance/Operations.
*Provide advice for material requisitions for equipment including relays, panels, switchgear, and instruments.
*Assist to develop project scopes for further electrical works across the site by reviewing equipment performance, mapping failure modes, liaising with operations/engineering personnel and reviewing the demand for this equipment into the future.
*Attendance and contribution to facility handover inspections, safety reviews and constructability reviews. These will be in both Karratha and Perth with a requirement to travel.
*Assist with operational handover and acceptance of equipment, including training of operations and maintenance personnel, and validation of maintenance build and procedures

Essential Skills / Qualifications:
*Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
*Bachelor's degree in Engineering or other relevant technical discipline as well as a minimum of five years relevant work experience, or seven years relevant experience in the absence of a degree.
*Have a working knowledge of the electrical installations, protection and plant operations. Advantageous to have experience with Schneider, ABB and Siemens switchgear.
*Must be computer-literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.
*Must be familiar with current industry quality standards, specifically AS3000.
*Knowledge of project management and commissioning processes.
*Experience within electrical construction on a brownfield facility would be advantageous.

Desirable Skills / Qualifications:
*Shutdown experience is preferred
*Basic understanding of project management including scheduling.
*Sound communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
