About The Role

As our next Mining Engineer based at QCoal Northern Hub you will report to the Technical Services Manager where you will oversee the execution of all aspects of the mine planning function and work collaboratively towards delivering high-quality solutions and results.

Duties Will Also Include

You will be responsible for ensuring production targets are met while maintaining a safety conscious, efficient, cost-effective and innovative work ethic.

• Completing and implementing various mine design aspects including pit and dump design, rehabilitation and water management designs
• Ownership of data management and reporting
• Providing guidance and input into the drill and blast
• Assessing opportunities to maximise equipment utilisation
• Preparing inputs for the control budget process
• Liaising with production staff to ensure plans are executed as per design
• Providing guidance and technical support to other site engineers
• Attending client meetings

Roster and Location:

• 5 days on 2 days off with full camp accommodation and meals provided
• QCoal Northern Hub is situated one hour south of Bowen in the lifestyle location of the beautiful Whitsunday Coast, and only a few minutes from the township of Collinsville.

About You

To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate:

• Experience working as a mining engineer on an operational open cut mine
• Open cut coal mining experience is preferential
• Open cut coal drill and blast experience is an advantageous
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering
• A proficiency in the following software:

• Vulcan
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Shot Plus is beneficial
• Spry is beneficial
