Our Services Division has a position available for an experienced Project Controls Engineer to join the team immediately on a casual basis for a period of between 4 – 6 months. This role is based out of Brisbane with the successful candidate available to travel and support our upcoming projects. Reporting to the Project Manager you will be responsible contract finance administrations such as process improvement and governance around claims process, deep-diving into data, providing insight, and leading process improvement in the tracking and management of financial and cost data on the clients Contract.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Contract/Site & Outage/ Project Managers to analyse financial and project information, identifying opportunities/risks and recommending improvements
  • Plan, establish and direct the Contract/Project financial administrative activities and operational procedures to ensure profits are protected
  • Work with the UGL managers and client stakeholders for routine claim, pay and true-up cycle periods to ensure quality and accuracy of data collation to support the process. Travel to site routinely to support the team in this regard

  • Assist with the preparation of the contract management reports including budget and forecasts, utilisation reporting, cash flow forecast and any other ad-hoc analysis as requested
  • Maintain customer/client relationships and provide support and guidance to the functional support teams and contract/project managers
  • Conduct financial evaluations, carrying out business modelling and risk assessments
  • Support with monitoring and analysing performance of contract against KPI's and sensitivity analysis
  • Assist in managing the Outage Plant and Equipment financial modelling and maintenance linked to the Track Em database.


Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in financial management such as project controls, cost control, or accounting practices
  • Understanding of payment processes and the relationship between revenue, cost, and profitability. 
  • Experience working with Projects & Operations & Maintenance contracts – contract margin improvements, labour rates, capital expenditure, cost control, project controls, risk management
  • Experience with general business management and understanding of business drivers
  • Experience in delivering insightful reporting analytics and financial/commercial information to manage business risks and opportunities
  • Experience in business partnering with Senior Management
  • Strong systems skills 
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written) including strong negotiation and influencing skills and the ability to establish effective working relationships with a variety of people at different levels both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated capacity and initiative to solve problems with energy and a positive attitude
  • Availability for site deployment during project delivery periods
