JOB DESCRIPTION

The Department employs approximately 1,900 staff and has responsibility for nine prisons and sixteen Community Correctional offices across the state. Our vision is for a safer community by protecting the public and reducing re-offending. We work towards this through the contribution of staff who are employed in a wide variety of fields, from correctional officers and teachers, to social workers, psychologists and supervisors of court orders. Duties

The Senior Project Officer, Mandatory Training and Work Health & Safety (WHS) compliance training, will play a significant leadership role in the effective project management of programs and initiatives in the Department, related to mandatory and WHS training. This will include the design and development of new initiatives to drive a more effective and efficient staff training environment, in both non-accredited and accredited training in line wth Registered Training Organisation (RTO) standards and policies.

The incumbent will undertake and oversee the provision of high-level project research, consultancy and expert advisory services across the agency for the achievement of the Department's goals and objectives aimed at fostering a competent and culturally inclusive workforce. The incumbent may also be required to deliver certain training programs and could be required to lead and manage a small team of project officers and/or project support staff.

Special Conditions

Section 47 of the Public Sector Act 2009 applies in conjunction with other provisions of the act and other applicable industral entitlements.

The incumbent is required to satisfactorily complete a National Criminal History Check.

A current South Australian Driver's Licence is essential.

A flexible approach to working hours is required.

Some interstate and intrastate travel will be required which may necessitate overnight absences.

Qualification Requirements

Essential

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116)

Desirable

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resource Management, WHS, Business Management or other relevant disciplines and/or Education, Training and Development or Project Management.

ASO6 ($92,784 - $98,143pa)
